Namaste!
I am deeply honored to step into the role of President of the Iowa Nepalese Association (INA), and I would like to begin by extending a warm welcome to all new members of our growing community.
Our journey together began almost two decades ago, when a small group of Nepalese students gathered to celebrate our first Nepali New Year here in Iowa. Today, that humble beginning has blossomed into a vibrant and dynamic community. Over the years, we’ve celebrated countless cultural and social events that not only connect us to our Nepali heritage but also allow us to actively contribute to the broader Des Moines community.
Our community continues to evolve, welcoming new families, embracing new careers, and witnessing the next generation take important steps, whether it’s their first day of school or sending them off to college. This diversity enriches us all and strengthens the bonds that make Iowa a welcoming home.
As your President, I encourage everyone—whether you’ve been part of the community for years or are just joining—to get involved in our activities. It’s through your participation that we can continue to foster a sense of unity, support one another, and celebrate our heritage. Together, we can ensure that our cultural traditions thrive and that our community remains a strong, supportive network for all.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to making our community what it is today. Let’s continue building on this foundation and growing together in the years ahead.
“Together, we thrive as a community!”
Thanks,
Pradip Sthapit
President 2024 -2026
